The upcoming season brings much excitement – for starters, the return of Liam Coen as Offensive Coordinator. Coen set Stoops-era records in his first season at Kentucky (2021) before leaving for the NFL to take the OC job for the Rams in 2022. His being back as the play caller will do wonders for this talented offense. Next, we have the resurgence of the Big Blue Wall. Stoops and Co. have drastically improved in the transfer portal with big names from all over, including Alabama and Ohio State. The defense has improved significantly all-around as well.
But perhaps the most exciting part is the addition of QB Devin Leary.Â
Almost every national site listed Leary as one of their top spring performers. There is serious hype building that he could end up as one of – if not THE – best QB in the SEC next year. Also, let’s not forget that we get year two of the best freshman WR duo from 2022 – Barion and Dane.
Our back end of the schedule for next season is loaded. We take on Alabama, Tennessee, and Florida all at home – and then Georgia and South Carolina on the road. However, this roster is shaping up to be the perfect build to take on the absolute best.Â
