A Kentuckian’s Trifecta: November Sports Schedule Highlights

On Tuesday, Kentucky released its full Basketball schedule, including all dates, times, and TV networks, to the public. We now know what the entire slate of November looks like for Kentucky athletics as a whole. If you’re in Lexington, then buckle up, because the month of November is going to be jam-packed with great football, basketball, and horses – a Kentuckian’s trifecta! Let’s break it down in full.

Thursday, November 3rd

🏀 vs KENTUCKY STATE (Exhibition)

The Cats will play their second exhibition game of the year, against Kentucky State, to kickoff the month of November. Try to make it out to Rupp, but if you can’t, then you can catch it on SECNetwork+ at 7:00 PM EST.

Friday, November 4th

🐎 BREEDER’S CUP (Day 1)

For just the third time in its storied history, the Breeder’s Cup will make its return to Lexington and Keeneland this year. Although some would argue otherwise, this is the greatest two-day event in horse racing (for those of you that didn’t know, Breeder’s Cup is the king – not the Derby, Preakness, or Belmont). All types of people will flood Lexington this weekend, including celebrities and stars from home and abroad, as well as international royalty from all over the world. If you haven’t already made your dinner reservations at your favorite downtown spots, well… good luck.

Saturday, November 5th

🐎 BREEDER’S CUP (Day 2)

🏈 @ MISSOURI

The second and most significant day of the Breeder’s Cup will take place over at Keeneland, with 12 races going from 10:30 AM to 6:20 PM (EST). However, most Kentucky fans will direct their attention at the Missouri game, which should be a big one for our guys as they are coming off a trip to Rocky Top the week prior. Kentucky has not won at Missouri since 2018. However, they have won six of the last seven against the Tigers – and should have no problem taking them down once again despite it being on the road. We’ll know official dates and times two weeks prior to this matchup.

Monday, November 7th

🏀 HOWARD

Kentucky will be back in action in Rupp Arena the following Monday of the big first weekend in November, taking on Howard in their first official regular season matchup of the 2022-23 season. Tip-off is at 6:30 PM (EST) – you can also watch on SECNetwork.

Friday, November 11th

🏀 DUQUESNE

The three-day break between the Howard and Duquesne games is the longest Kentucky fans will have between events in all of November. We warned you it would be a busy one. The Cats take on the Dukes in Rupp Arena in the first game of the Tribute Classic at 7:00 PM (EST) on SECNetwork.

Saturday, November 12th

🏈 VANDERBILT

Kentucky basketball and football on back-to-back days? We love it! Kentucky will host Vandy in the third to last home game of the year. Once again, we will not know the official kickoff time or TV network until two weeks before – but don’t bank on this one being a night game.

Tuesday, November 15th

🏀 MICHIGAN STATE (Indianapolis)

Pack your bags, because we’re going to Indy! The first true test for our basketball team will come in the Champions Classic against Coach Izzo and his Michigan State Spartans at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Kentucky fans make this trip in numbers every year, and this time should be no different. Tip-off is at 7:00 PM (EST) on ESPN.

Thursday, November 17th

🏀 SOUTH CAROLINA STATE

With just a single-day break in between Indy and the next home game, the Cats will return to take on the Bulldogs of SC ST in Rupp –  this could be a trap game with the quick turnaround. Tip-off is at 7:00 PM (EST) on SECNetwork.

Saturday, November 19th

🏈 GEORGIA

The big one. This is what Stoops and our guys have been building towards. If we take care of business the rest of this year (like we are expecting to) then this game could be for the SEC East – and a shot at Atlanta – just like it was back in 2018. Only this time, our guys will be 100% ready. Expect college gameday to make its second trip ever to Lexington, and for us to be scheduled for the SEC on CBS game at 3:30.

Sunday, November 20th

🏀 GONZAGA

What’s the best way to celebrate the biggest win in Kentucky football history? By watching the basketball team go take care of business in the biggest college basketball game of the year. The Cats travel to Spokane for a primetime 7:00 PM (EST) tip-off on ESPN. It will be the most anticipated college basketball matchup in recent memory.

Wednesday, November 23rd

🏀 NORTH FLORIDA

Only a short two-day break from the greatest weekend in Kentucky sports history before the Cats are back on the hardwood in Rupp Arena. Tip-off against North Florida will be at 4:00 PM (EST) due to Thanksgiving break for UK. (SECNetwork+)

Saturday, November 26th

🏈 LOUISVILLE

Can’t think of any better way to cap-off Thanksgiving week than seeing our boys throttle the Dirty Birds from up North on a Saturday. Kentucky will gun for their fourth straight victory in the Governor’s Cup series against Louisville – and are looking to build upon their goliath aggregate score of 153-44 in the past three matchups.

Tuesday, November 29th

🏀 BELLARMINE

The final event of the month comes with a game of “roundball” over in Rupp Arena as the Cats take on the Knights of Bellarmine – the small school from Louisville only recently made the jump to NCAA Division 1. Tip-off is at 7:00 PM (EST) and you can watch it on SECNetwork+.

Let’s sum up the month of November – Kentuckians and members of the Big Blue Nation from all over will have 14 total events to look forward to. For those that’ll be in Lexington, that includes two days of the ultimate horse racing experience, six home basketball games, and three home football games (all against P5 opponents). This is going to be a month to remember with so much on the line. Enjoy it as much as you can!
